If you’re new to Pilates, Reformer equipment, or the Tempo Pilates method, our Beginner Pilates London classes are the perfect place to start. Taught at a slightly slower pace and tailored for those taking their first steps into Pilates, these classes introduce our core repertoire and give you the confidence to progress safely and effectively.

Who is Beginners Only for?

Beginner Pilates is ideal if:

  • You’re completely new to Pilates or Reformer Pilates
  • You haven’t exercised in a while and want a safe reintroduction to movement
  • You want to feel confident and prepared before joining our L1 – Beginner/Intermediate classes
  • You prefer to learn in a dedicated, beginner-only environment

A basic level of fitness is helpful, but absolutely not essential.

If you’re already familiar with the Reformer or Pilates principles — or you exercise regularly — you’re welcome to start with our L1 – Beginner/Intermediate Tempo Pilates classes.

What to Expect at Beginner Pilates London Classes

Our Beginner Pilates classes are structured as a workshop-style introduction. You’ll be guided through the core Tempo Pilates repertoire with a focus on form, breath, and technique. The music is softer than our regular classes, and there’s more explanation and demonstration throughout — giving you time to learn, absorb, and practise each movement with confidence.

This class is designed to set you up for success. You’ll leave with a better understanding of how to move on the Reformer, how to activate the right muscles, and how to get the most out of your future Tempo Pilates workouts. It’s a strong foundation that supports safe progression — especially important in a results-focused method like ours.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes early if it’s your first class. This gives you time to settle in and ensures you don’t miss key instructions at the start of the class.

What to Wear to Beginner Pilates London

Wear comfortable, form-fitting activewear that lets you move freely — such as leggings or stretch shorts and a t-shirt or vest. You will warm up quickly, so breathable clothing is recommended.

Grip socks are advised for hygiene and safety. If you don’t have a pair, they’re available to purchase at the studio. Water and towels are also available to buy or hire on-site.
